Cocoa Cereal Balls – Gluten-Free and Egg-Free

The cocoa cereal balls without gluten, lactose, and eggs are a tasty and healthy idea for breakfast. With just four ingredients, you’ll make crunchy cereal balls that you can flavor with cinnamon to start your day off right. This recipe is easy to prepare, and the balls will bake in the oven in no time. You’ll just need a bit of patience to shape each ball by hand; try to make them small and of the same size!

Cocoa Cereal Balls
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Economical
  • Portions: 80 Pieces
  • Cooking methods: Oven

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 oz rice cakes (or oat flakes)
  • 1 1/2 oz unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons honey

Tools

  • Mixer

Preparation

  • To make the cocoa cereal balls, blend the rice cakes (or oat flakes) and then pour everything into a large bowl.

  • Then add the unsweetened cocoa and cinnamon. Mix with a spoon.

  • In a small pot, pour the water and add the honey. Heat over low heat to dissolve the honey, but do not let it boil.

  • Pour the water and honey mixture into the bowl over the oat flakes and cereals. Stir with a spoon to combine the ingredients until you get a moist and uniform mixture.

  • Using your hands, take a small amount of the mixture and form balls. If the mixture tends to crumble, don’t worry, just work it with your hands.

  • Place the cereal balls on the oven tray lined with parchment paper.

  • Bake in a preheated oven (I use a fan oven) at 350°F for 10 minutes. Once cooked, let them cool.

  • Transfer the cocoa cereal balls into a glass jar with an airtight seal and enjoy as needed. Enjoy!
