The delicate poured cake with apple roses is an elegant and perfect dessert for any occasion, whether it’s a special snack or a Sunday lunch.
Filled with cherry jam that perfectly complements the apples with its sweetness, this cake captivates from the first bite.
I had already talked about the poured cake when I published the recipe for the poured cake with spreadable cream; it is a very simple dessert that undergoes a double cooking process, as you pour the first part of the batter into the cake pan, bake it for a few minutes, then pour the chosen filling and the remaining batter on top, finishing the baking.
In this elegant dessert, the plus is given by the apple roses, made by thinly slicing an apple whose slices are arranged as we will see shortly.

P.S. I was inspired by a video I saw online for the decoration; the recipe for the poured cake is the one published here on the blog, except I used water instead of milk.

Ingredients
- 4 eggs (medium)
- 1 1/2 cups type 1 flour (or all-purpose)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup rice oil (or other mild oil)
- 1/3 cup water
- Half packet baking powder
- ground cinnamon
- 7 oz light cherry jam
- 1 apple
Tools
The mandoline is very useful for thinly slicing the apple.
- 1 Mandoline
- 1 Cake Pan 8 inches
- 1 Electric Mixer
Steps
After washing and drying the apple, cut it into wedges and slice it very thinly with the mandoline. Arrange the apple slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper as shown in the photo, lightly sprinkle with sugar and bake at 320°F for about 5 minutes. (they should soften)
Out of the oven, roll up the slices starting from the top of the row to form roses.
Temporarily set aside the apple roses on a plate.
Pour eggs and sugar into a container and beat well with electric beaters for 5 minutes.
Gradually add the oil.
Also add the water and mix.
Add the previously sifted flour and baking powder, mix with a spatula by hand to prevent the flour from scattering everywhere.
Add cinnamon to taste.
Pour a little more than half of the batter into the greased and floured cake pan and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 15 minutes.
Remove the cake pan from the oven without burning yourself and spread the jam without reaching the edge of the cake pan.
Finally, pour the remaining batter.
Decorate the center of the delicate poured cake with the apple roses and continue baking for another 18 to 20 minutes. (the toothpick test always applies)
Let it cool completely before removing from the pan.
STORAGE:
The delicate poured cake keeps in the pantry for about 3 days. (I wouldn’t know longer because it was finished)
FAQ (Questions and Answers)
Can I use another jam instead of the one indicated?
Of course; you can also use spreadable cream as indicated in the introduction.
And if I used pastry cream, what do you recommend?
The pastry cream that goes in the oven is different from the one used to fill desserts. Try the pastry cream from the quilt cake.
