Cooked in the steam egg insert: soft, light, and tasty.
Today I’m bringing you a simple yet truly delightful recipe: steamed rustic muffins, perfect for a light appetizer, a creative brunch, or a casual dinner.
The special feature? We steam them using the egg insert of the Monsieur Cuisine Smart.
A clever solution to achieve muffins that are perfectly soft and moist, without needing to turn on the oven. They are versatile: you can make them sweet, vegetarian, or enrich them with diced speck, bacon, or cheeses of your choice.
- Preparation time: 5 Minutes
- Portions: 5Pieces
- Cooking methods: Cooking with kitchen robot
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 1/2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp instant yeast for savory preparations
- 1/4 teaspoon fine salt
- to taste ground black pepper
- provola, cooked ham, walnuts, poppy seeds (optional if you want to enrich the muffins)
Steps
First, choose whether to mix all ingredients by hand in a bowl, or mix in the Monsieur Cuisine: soft dough program for 2 minutes.
After preparing the dough, take the egg insert of the Monsieur Cuisine Smart and brush the inside of the 5 molds with oil. Pour 4-5 tablespoons of the mixture into each mold, filling up to about half. At this point, you can enrich the muffins by adding a cube of provola or cooked ham, or olives, as you prefer.
Pour 20 oz of cold water into the bowl and place the egg insert inside the bowl.
Close the bowl lid and put on the cap – measuring cup.
But, if you have it, I recommend placing the steam diverter instead of the measuring cup. A very useful accessory during steam cooking or at high temperatures, especially if our robot is positioned under the kitchen cabinets. (see arrow)
At this point select the program: Boil Eggs – select Large Eggs – Hard-boiled – Start
Once the cooking time is over, open the bowl lid carefully due to steam, and with the help of a fork, hook the central ring of the egg insert to remove it.
Let cool on the work surface before removing the rustic muffins. They will be beautifully puffy and perfectly cooked.
