Cake with Dried Fruits

The cake with dried fruits is a delicate and easy-to-make dessert. A simple batter filled with custard cream and complemented by dried fruits: walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, and raisins. Perfect for recharging your energy, ideal for breakfast or a snack. A mix of flavors and taste that will delight your palate and brighten your day.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups Flour
  • 3.5 oz Butter
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 envelope Baking powder
  • 1 1/4 cups Milk
  • 3 Egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 3 tbsp Flour
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract (or zest of half a lemon)
  • 2.65 oz mixed dried fruits (almonds with skin, hazelnuts, walnuts, and raisins)

Preparation

  • To make the cake with dried fruits, first prepare the custard cream: for the procedure click HERE. Let the cream rest in a bowl covered with plastic wrap in contact with the surface.

  • Proceed to prepare the cake: in a bowl, combine the butter with the sugar and egg. Then add the flour and baking powder and mix well until it becomes a crumbly dough.

  • Take a 9.45-inch springform pan lined with parchment paper and pour half of the dough. Fill with the custard cream and pour the other half of the dough.

  • Spread the mixed dried fruits over the cake surface. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 30 minutes, or until golden brown. Enjoy!
