Charlotte Tiramisu with Candied Chestnuts and Coffee

Today I made a special dessert, the Charlotte Tiramisu with Candied Chestnuts and Coffee, one of those desserts that captivates at first glance.
A creamy and soft dessert, made with ladyfingers lightly soaked in coffee and a cream of whipped cream, mascarpone, and chestnuts.
It is spectacular, quick to prepare, and requires no baking: perfect for serving during the holidays or when you want to bring something elegant yet simple to the table.
The decoration with delicate white cream and slivers of candied chestnuts transforms it into a small masterpiece… to be savored spoonful by spoonful.

The amount of chestnut cream is not excessive, and this aroma does not overpower but enhances the goodness, and I’m sure it will also appeal to those who wrinkle their noses at the idea of chestnut cream!

As I said before, this no-bake holiday dessert is very easy: the only problem is keeping the ladyfingers standing while you lay the cream in the mold, heh heh!

Still on the TOPIC of chestnut recipes, here are some ideas for those who love this food just below:

whole charlotte tiramisu with ladyfingers chestnut cream whipped cream mascarpone-
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Medium
  • Rest time: 3 Hours
  • Preparation time: 30 Minutes
  • Portions: 8People
  • Cooking methods: No Cooking
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All Seasons

Ingredients

  • q.b. ladyfingers (cut to fit the mold)
  • 1 coffee cup coffee (or soluble coffee granules)
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 12 oz mascarpone
  • 5 oz chestnut cream
  • 2/3 cup whipping cream, 35% fat
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 5 candied chestnuts (roughly chopped)
  • 5 ladyfingers (to make an internal layer with a different texture)
  • 3 candied chestnuts (one whole in the center and the other two chopped and arranged to taste)
  • 3/4 cup whipping cream, 35% fat
  • 2 oz mascarpone
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

Tools

18 cm mold, for me in silicone

  • Molds
  • Electric Whisks
  • Coffee Makers

Steps

  • First, arrange the ladyfingers in the mold, measuring as if tailoring the size of the edge to prevent the biscuit from sticking out too much.

However, honestly, it is BETTER to make the cream first because these biscuits keep falling down without restraint, while with the cream, ahem ahem, the problem is solved!

  • For the cream, in a large bowl, place the mascarpone, chestnut cream, and whipping cream, and with the help of electric whisks, whip everything until you have a smooth, delicious cream!

  • Roughly chop the candied chestnuts and add them to the cream.

Assemble the no-bake cold dessert by arranging the ladyfingers around the edge and then pouring about 2/3 of the soft chestnut cream into the mold.

  • Add the whole ladyfingers and then finish with the third of the whipped cream, mascarpone, and chestnut cream.

In a shallow dish, mix the coffee with the sugar and a little water, and with a spoon, pour very little over the ladyfingers around the perimeter of the charlotte tiramisu so as not to soak them too much!

  • Cover the no-bake dessert with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours: personally, all night.

After the resting time, unmold the cold dessert without any baking and place it on the serving dish.

Whip the remaining cream with the small amount of mascarpone and sugar until you have a soft and delicate foam.

Place the cream in a piping bag with a small star tip and cover the entire Christmas chestnut dessert.

Decorate with a central candied chestnut and small pieces scattered here and there on the silky white cream.

Honestly, I liked it a lot, delicate, not too “chestnutty,” and very pleasant!

    Enjoy your meal! Annalisa

  • If you want to make the ladyfingers, I leave you Cracco’s recipe, which is definitely unique and perfect! Clearly, the homemade ladyfingers with Cracco’s recipe bear no resemblance to the industrial ones!!!!!!!!!!!

Advice

I considered this Charlotte Tiramisu with Chestnut Cream for 6 people, because it is a rich and creamy dessert. However, if served at the end of a meal after several courses, it can also suffice for 8 people
