Juicy Lemon Chicken

Today’s recipe is for a second course of white meat, the juicy lemon chicken. It’s an easy recipe requiring a few simple steps, and the result is a dish you’ll never tire of eating, because the chicken is tender and delicious, wrapped in a sweet and sour sauce that…well, I’ve fallen in love with it!

Chicken meat is a white meat that, along with pork, is often used in our homes because it’s nutritious, not very caloric, and also economical!

The chicken strips soaked in this glossy and tasty sauce are fragrant and very appetizing, a dish that can also be eaten at room temperature, making it suitable for summer!

Tools for the JUICY LEMON CHICKEN RECIPE

#ADV

  • Slotted Spoons
  • Absorbent Paper
  • Food Wraps
  • Frying Pans

PREPARATION FOR THE JUICY LEMON CHICKEN RECIPE

  • 1) Start the recipe by cutting the chicken breast into thin strips and place them in a bowl

    2) Add salt, pepper, lemon juice, flour, finely chopped garlic, and milk, mixing well to combine all the ingredients.

    3) Cover with plastic wrap and let sit for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.

    4) While the meat is marinating, proceed to prepare the sweet and sour lemon sauce as follows:

    5) In a saucepan, mix lemon juice, sugar, honey, water, and cornstarch well with a mini whisk.

    6) Place the saucepan over moderate heat and allow to thicken while constantly stirring: just a few minutes will be enough, then turn off the heat and also add the previously chopped zest.

    7) Once the marinating time for the meat has elapsed, pour plenty of peanut oil into a frying pan, and when it reaches temperature (about 338-356°F), start frying the meat by turning it on both sides and collecting it with a slotted spoon as soon as it turns golden.

    8) Drain now on absorbent paper and let it cool for about ten minutes.

    9) Add fresh peanut oil and refry the meat, letting it brown on both sides and always draining on suitable paper.

    10) All that’s left is to place the juicy lemon chicken strips on a serving plate and then drizzle them with the sweet and sour lemon sauce, mixing well and serving immediately!

    Delicious… enjoy your meal!

1) Marinating, in general, and in this case the meat, allows for a tender, fragrant preparation. For more tips and instructions, click here

2) We can also marinate chicken with ingredients we typically have at home, like lemon juice and olive oil, perhaps adding herbs such as parsley and basil.
