Ingredients for Spinach Pizza Wreath

  • 1 package pizza dough
  • 10.5 oz spinach, frozen
  • 8 slices smoked scamorza cheese
  • 8 slices cooked ham
  • 1 shallot
  • 3 pinches salt
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

Preparation of Spinach Pizza Wreath

  • Cook the spinach in a pot with a little boiling salted water for 5 minutes. Drain and squeeze them well, chop coarsely.

In a pan, brown the shallot with the extra virgin olive oil and add the spinach. Salt and stew for 5 minutes over high heat. Then, remove from heat and let cool.

Roll out the pizza base on the work surface and cut it into 8 rectangles.

Distribute a slice of cooked ham, a slice of smoked scamorza, and the spinach on each.

Now roll up the rectangles and divide them in half to get 16 pieces.

Place them in a cake pan lined with parchment paper: form a larger crown of 14 pieces and place the remaining 4 pieces in the center.

Brush the surface of the dough with a drizzle of oil and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 15-20 minutes.

  • Serve the pizza crown either hot or warm.
