The sweet and sour chicken wings are a simple and tasty white meat main dish that requires some marinating time to make the meat (not much honestly) tender and succulent and very inviting!!
The marinade I chose to make is vaguely Asian and I also added canned pineapple slices to accentuate the sweet and sour flavor of the preparation.
The sweet and sour chicken wings can also be a savory and unusual appetizer served pre-portioned to make it easier for guests and served with a fresh, slightly sparkling beer.

Ingredients
- 2 lbs chicken wings
- 2 tablespoons barbecue sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons acacia honey
- 10 oz canned pineapple
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 pinches pepper
- 1 teaspoon rosemary
- 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
Preparation of Sweet and Sour Chicken Wings Recipe
For this white meat main dish, it is necessary to first prepare the marinade where the chicken wings will be placed for at least a couple of hours before proceeding with the oven cooking.
I clean the wings very well from any feathers and then prepare the marinade seasoning.
In the mixer, I put garlic, barbecue sauce, honey, soy sauce, rosemary leaves and blend well to homogenize to combine the various flavors and aromas.
I also add EVO oil and adjust the blended seasoning with salt and pepper.
I put the well-cleaned chicken wings in a baking dish, preferably in a single layer, and then pour the marinade over them, making sure the meat is enveloped by this sweet and sour sauce.
I cover with plastic wrap and place the dish in the refrigerator for the indicated marinating time (at least 2 hours).
After the time has passed, I just have to bake the chicken wings at 392°F, adding the canned pineapple pieces as well and cooking this delicious and tasty chicken main dish for about 45 minutes.
If during cooking the chicken wings dry out too much, I drizzle them with the marinade I saved after the resting time.
It’s a main dish with an intriguing flavor, and for me, it needs to be accompanied by a simple and light basic side dish like mashed potatoes…
