The sweet and sour chicken wings are a simple and tasty white meat main course that requires a certain marinating time to make the meat (not much, honestly) tender, succulent, and very inviting!!
The marinade I decided to make is vaguely Asian, and I also added canned pineapple slices to enhance the sweet and sour flavor of the preparation.

Ingredients
- 2 lbs chicken wings
- 2 tablespoons barbecue sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons acacia honey
- 10.5 oz canned pineapple
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 pinches pepper
- 1 teaspoon rosemary
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
Sweet and Sour Chicken Wings Recipe Preparation
For this white meat main course, it is necessary to first prepare the marinade where the chicken wings will be placed for at least a couple of hours before proceeding with the oven cooking.
I clean the wings very well from any feathers and then prepare the marinade seasoning.
In the mixer, I put the garlic, barbecue sauce, honey, soy sauce, rosemary leaves, and blend very well to homogenize to combine the various flavors and aromas.
I also add the EVO oil and adjust the blended seasoning with salt and pepper.
I place the well-cleaned chicken wings in a baking dish, preferably in a single layer, and then pour the marinade, mixing well to envelop the meat with this sweet and sour sauce.
Cover with food wrap and put the dish in the fridge for the indicated marinating time (minimum 2 hours)
After the time has passed, all that’s left is to bake the chicken wings at 392°F, adding the canned pineapple pieces and cooking this tasty and flavorful chicken dish for about 45 minutes.
If during cooking, the chicken wings dry out too much, I drizzle them with the marinade that I saved after the resting time.
It’s a second course with an intriguing taste, and in my opinion, it should be accompanied by a simple and light side dish such as potato puree…
