How to define the Brussels sprouts, bacon, and cheddar skewers while emphasizing that they are super tasty and that I’ve enjoyed quite a few??
They’re a side dish and you should serve 2/3 of them or a finger food appetizer to nibble on while waiting for the main course, sampling many appetizers from the buffet??
Honestly, I don’t know, I made them as an appetizer but as always if you want…
I had some bacon but feel free to use prosciutto, speck, pancetta, and instead of julienned cheddar cheese which I found at Aldi, you can use provolone, scamorza, or galbanino, as long as it melts when you put the cheddar, bacon, and Brussels sprouts skewers under the grill!

BRUSSELS SPROUTS, BACON, AND CHEDDAR SKEWERS

Ingredients
- 10.5 oz Brussels sprouts
- 2.8 oz bacon
- 1.8 oz cheddar (julienned)

Steps
For the recipe of Brussels sprouts skewers with bacon and cheddar, first, clean the vegetables by removing the leaves and the tougher base of the sprouts with a sharp knife.
Place a tall-sided casserole with salted water on the stove and when it boils, blanch the sprouts for 8/9 minutes.
At the end of cooking, the sprouts should be tender yet firm, and let them cool on a plate.
Turn on the oven and start skewer alternating the vegetables and cured meat, placing them on a baking tray already lined with parchment paper.
Generously sprinkle cheddar cheese or any other chosen cheese over the already formed skewers, and then bake for a few minutes in grill mode.
The bacon will start to render its fat, flavoring the sprouts which have not been seasoned yet, and the melted cheese will create a nice surface crust…
In short, these skewers ready in 15 minutes in total are tasty and it’s a great way to enjoy a vegetable with a rather basic taste!
