Stuffed Mushrooms

Stuffed mushrooms are a suitable side dish to prepare during this period.

I had never tried them stuffed, and yesterday I enjoyed them for lunch accompanied by veal slices with lemon.

This week has started with nice weather: cool in the morning and evening, warmer in the middle of the day.

These are days that I like a lot because they are drier 🙂

This morning I went shopping and bought some champignon mushrooms that I wanted to use to dress the pasta.

In the end, I preferred to stuff them to try them out 😉

For the stuffing, I used chopped stems, cooked ham, cheese, and breadcrumbs.

Champignon mushrooms are very economical and can be easily found on the market, and in my opinion, they are the most suitable for stuffing because they have a soft and meaty cap.

Instead of cooked ham or additionally, you can use a bit of sausage, and they will become even tastier.

You can accompany them with both meat-based and fish-based dishes.

I hope I’ve piqued your curiosity, and now I’ll leave you my recipe 😀

Ingredients for Stuffed Mushrooms

  • 10.5 oz champignon mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil (+ a drizzle for the mushroom surface)
  • 1.75 oz cooked ham (diced)
  • 1 oz cheese (grated)
  • 1.75 oz breadcrumbs
  • 1 clove garlic

Tools

  • 1 Pan
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 small knife
  • 1 Spoon
  • 1 Teaspoon
  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 Parchment paper
  • 1 Baking tray

Steps for Stuffed Mushrooms

  • Clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth and use a small knife to remove the dirt from the stems.

Separate the stems from the caps.

In a pan with a tablespoon of oil, sauté the garlic, and after 1-2 minutes, add the chopped stems and continue cooking for about 5 more minutes. If too dry, add a little water. At the end of cooking, remove the garlic.

In a bowl, add diced cooked ham, cheese, and breadcrumbs, and finally, the chopped stems. Mix the mixture well with a spoon.

Using a teaspoon, scoop a bit of the mixture and fill each mushroom one by one.

Line a baking tray with parchment paper and place the stuffed mushrooms.

  • Drizzle a bit of oil on the surface.

Preheat the oven to 350°F in static mode and bake the stuffed mushrooms for about 20-25 minutes.
