Steps for easy potato parmesan

  • Let’s prepare the potatoes:

Peel the potatoes, cut them into not too thick slices and place them in a microwave-safe dish. Cover with plastic wrap and cook on high for 10 minutes.

In this way, they will be ready in no time.

  • Let’s prepare the light béchamel by putting flour, milk, and nutmeg on low heat, mixing with a whisk until it thickens.

Be patient, it will take a while. Don’t let it thicken too much.

  • Time to assemble!

Lightly oil the bottom and sprinkle with some breadcrumbs.

    Then alternate:

    – Potatoes

    – Cooked ham cut into strips

    – Béchamel

    – Provola

    – Parmesan

And so on until you run out of ingredients

  • Finish with a nice sprinkle of breadcrumbs, the remaining parmesan, and a drizzle of oil.

Cook in microwave at 650w combined with grill for 20 minutes.

Let it rest outside the oven for 5 minutes.

Advice and Storage

Potato Parmesan is a delicious and satisfying dish, so it’s very difficult for leftovers to remain. If that happens, you can store it in an airtight container in the fridge for a couple of days.

Alternatively, you can freeze it already portioned. In this case, it will last a couple of weeks.

If you don’t want ham, you can use your preferred cold cuts, like speck or crumbled sausage, or diced cold cuts.

To make your recipe vegetarian, simply omit the ham, and it will be delicious just the same.

In addition, you can enrich the potato parmesan with additional vegetables, such as chard, spinach, bell peppers, or zucchini, so it also works as a perfect fridge clean-out dish.
