ROASTED TURKEY WITH ORANGE AND SHALLOTS

Ingredients for ROASTED TURKEY WITH ORANGE AND SHALLOTS

  • 2 turkey legs
  • 2 oranges (preferably organic or untreated)
  • 10 shallots
  • 1 sprig rosemary
  • sprigs thyme
  • as needed vegetable broth
  • as needed extra virgin olive oil
  • as needed salt and pepper

FOR THE PREPARATION OF ROASTED TURKEY WITH ORANGE AND SHALLOTS

  • In a large pot, add a little Evo oil and when it sizzles, add the turkey legs and brown them well on all sides over high heat.

    Preheat the oven to 350°F.

  • Transfer the meat to a baking dish and add the peeled shallots, rosemary, and thyme sprigs.

    Slice 1 orange and add the slices to the dish.

    Pour in the juice of the second orange, season with salt and pepper, and bake for about 45/50 minutes or according to your oven’s characteristics.

  • Check the cooking several times, ensuring the sauce does not reduce too much by adding ladles of water or vegetable broth as needed.

    The meat will be tender, succulent, and flavorful with a pleasant citrus note.
