For the potato balls with ham, a very quick and tasty APPETIZER, I thought of revisiting a recipe published here by adding diced cooked ham and chopped parsley, and I have to say the result is very appetizing!!
I added the ham directly into the mixture, but you could also insert it only inside the bite (like an arancino), and maybe add some mixed cheese cubes… The parsley adds flavor without being overpowering, so… it can be done!

POTATO BALLS WITH HAM

Ingredients RECIPE POTATO BALLS WITH HAM
- 2.6 oz instant mashed potato mix (1 packet)
- 1.6 oz cornstarch
- 0.5 oz Grana Padano (grated)
- 1.4 oz diced cooked ham
- to taste Parsley
- to taste salt (a little in the mixture and just a pinch before serving)

FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE RECIPE POTATO BALLS WITH HAM
In a bowl, pour the instant mashed potato flakes and the cornstarch.
Mix the powders well, then add the chopped parsley and diced HAM.
Adjust the salt, then pour in about 9 oz of water and start kneading quickly: the mixture will be firm and manageable!
Make as many balls* as possible with the mixture and place them on a surface.
Pour plenty of seed oil (peanut oil has a high smoke point but is highly allergenic, so adjust according to your family habits) into a saucepan and turn on a medium-high flame.
When it reaches temperature (insert a wooden skewer, and when bubbles form around it, it’s ready), start frying the potato balls with ham.
Turn the FINGER potatoes so they can brown on all sides.
Drain the potato balls with ham on specific kitchen absorbent paper and then serve them immediately at the table.
These appetizers are delicious and very, very quick, perfect for a SAVORY BUFFET! Bon appétit!!!

Tips and notes
The potato balls with ham will be even tastier if you add pieces of salami instead of cooked ham…
