SAVORY FANS

Savory Fans
  • Difficulty: Very Easy
  • Preparation time: 15 Minutes
  • Portions: 4 people
  • Cooking methods: Oven

Ingredients for SAVORY FANS RECIPE

  • 1 roll Puff Pastry (rectangular)
  • 3.5 oz speck
  • 3.5 oz sliced cheese (I use Edamer)
  • 1 egg

Tools for SAVORY FANS RECIPE

  • Rolling Pin
  • Baking Tray
  • Parchment Paper

Preparation for SAVORY FANS RECIPE

  • Unroll the rectangular puff pastry and lightly flatten it with a rolling pin.

  • Cover the entire surface with slices of speck and cheese.

    Roll from one long side the savory fans stopping about halfway.

  • Do the same on the other side, stopping at the center and corresponding to the other roll.

    Transfer everything to the freezer for about 15 minutes to allow the double roll to firm up.

  • After the time, cut the double roll of puff pastry into rounds about 1/2 inch thick using a sharp knife.

  • As you proceed to make the savory fans, place them on the baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  • Space them out as they will increase in volume while baking. Beat the egg and brush the savory fans.

  • Bake the savory appetizers called fans at 375°F for about 10/15 minutes or according to your oven’s cooking times.

  • When they become beautifully golden, take them out and serve them warm with a nice chilled mug of beer! Enjoy your meal with the savory fans!!
