Variants and Tips
You can add a tablespoon of rum or another liqueur of your choice to the mixture.
If you have dried the ricotta well, the mixture will be firm, but if it is not compact enough, you can add a couple of crushed cookies.
Besides the ingredients I listed for garnishing, you can also use chopped other nuts (almonds and pistachios) and desiccated coconut.
