With the cocoa sponge cake I made a few days ago, I brought Christmas early by preparing the snowy cocoa cake, adding a simple filling of apricot jam, a dark chocolate glaze, and many small trees filled with whipped cream and coated with melted chocolate.

Then, to leave nothing undone and to challenge the calories, I sprinkled the ice cream cone-made little trees with sugar sprinkles and shredded coconut.

I don’t mind the effect, even if the photo isn’t the best…. Could it be a cute idea to bring to the table during the Christmas period a beautiful and tasty dessert????

Ingredients SNOWY COCOA CAKE RECIPE

  • to taste jam of choice (raspberries or apricots)
  • to taste hazelnut and chocolate cream
  • to taste whipped cream
  • 6 ice cream cones
  • 300 g dark chocolate
  • to taste shredded coconut
  • to taste sugar sprinkles
  • to taste vegetable whipped cream (optional)

Preparation SNOWY COCOA CAKE RECIPE

  • For the sponge cake, follow my recipe in this article and let the cake cool. Then unmold it, cut it in half, and fill it with the cream of your choice.

  • Melt the dark chocolate in a bain-marie or microwave, then dip the ice cream cones, perhaps of different heights, and let them drain on a cake rack.

  • Decorate them with sugar sprinkles or coconut or as you prefer, and let them solidify on a plate to put in the refrigerator.

  • Cover the snowy cocoa cake with the dark chocolate as well. At this point, you can decorate the cake by placing the offset cones and with additional coconut on the base of the cake.

  • If you want it more indulgent, fill the now compact cones from their stay in the refrigerator with vegetable whipped cream and then place them on the snowy cocoa cake.
