Preparation Recipe Savory Bread Pie
Slice the stale bread (I used half a loaf of unsalted bread) and place it in a bowl.
Pour the milk over it and let the bread soak perfectly: the time depends on how stale your bread is…
Now break up the bread, breaking the crusts if you have any!
Add the beaten eggs, diced scamorza cheese, grated Parmesan, and diced smoked bacon.
Mix well and adjust with salt and pepper. Grease the mold (I used a square one of 8 x 8 inches) and sprinkle it with breadcrumbs, then remove the excess or line the mold with baking paper.
Pour the mixture into the mold, leveling it well.
Now distribute the savory bread pie with cherry tomato wedges (any type you have at home will do) sprinkle with dried oregano and add a drizzle of oil if you want (I didn’t use any).
Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 30 minutes or until golden brown… I almost reached the limit, darn it!!!
Serve hot or at room temperature and enjoy your savory bread pie!
