Salt is a food that has great importance in the kitchen just as it is fundamental in human nutrition.

Salt is vital for some essential physiological mechanisms such as nerve impulse transmission, fluid exchange, and pressure regulation. In the kitchen for centuries, salt has been used to preserve foods to cook them and as a flavor enhancer. There are many types such as coarse salt, fleur de sel, Maldon salt, Persian blue salt, Himalayan pink salt, and many more. The aromatic salts I prepared today use classic coarse salt, excellent Maldon salt flakes, and Himalayan salt flakes, but they are just a tiny variety of seasonings you can make in your kitchen.

Aromatic salts can also be a delightful gift idea, especially if you have friends who love to cook and try new combinations and taste sensations on the tongue. I confess that Maldon salt is almost like a drug for me … but let’s prepare these simple and tasty aromatic salts together …

Advice and Notes

A diet high in salt can cause serious health problems, especially related to increased blood pressure.

Excessive sodium intake can also cause cardiovascular damage and promote swelling due to water retention.

Eating too salty foods can lead to stroke, osteoporosis, and kidney stones, so watch out for salt!
