Codfish Mousse – Creamy Appetizer for Crostini and Canapés

I had a small portion of codfish soaked and desalted in the freezer for a while and kept postponing its use because I wanted a fantastic recipe to make. Then I thought of preparing the recipe for a mousse, a codfish mousse whipped delicately and deliciously that I enjoyed with crostini as an appetizer.

The preparation of the codfish mousse was slightly modified from what I read in this blog and I was fully satisfied! If, like me, you use a piece of frozen codfish, let it thaw in the fridge for as long as needed….but let’s head to the kitchen for this unique and soft dish of codfish mousse!

Codfish mousse is a typical Mediterranean appetizer, much appreciated for its delicacy and creaminess. Perfect for spreading on toasted bread crostini but also to serve in single-serving glasses!

Advice and notes

Sometimes there is confusion between codfish and stockfish because they are often mistaken for each other, but in this article you will find all the information to avoid this mistake. They are both products derived from cod, but thanks to different and ancient methods of processing and preservation, they eventually become two distinct foods with a unique taste and texture!
