Stew with Polenta

Today is freezing, and I think this tasty beer stew with polenta is perfect for lunch or dinner, a main dish made with pork loin or loin but a slightly fattier pork neck will also do.

BEER STEW WITH POLENTA

Beer stew with polenta

Ingredients RECIPE Stew with polenta

  • 1.76 lbs pork loin (or neck)
  • 3.5 oz Smoked bacon
  • 1 glass light beer
  • 1 bunch aromatic herbs
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 2 leeks
  • 2.5 oz All-purpose flour
  • to taste extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste instant polenta
  • to taste vegetable broth
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper

Preparation RECIPE Stew with polenta

  • Finely chop the aromatic herbs (parsley, sage, and rosemary) and add them to the all-purpose flour.

    Cut the pork meat into chunks and mix it with the seasoned flour mixture.

  • Shake off the excess by sifting the pork chunks with a sieve.

    In a saucepan, put extra virgin olive oil and brown the crushed and peeled garlic clove and the bacon.

  • Remove the garlic and add the floured meat chunks.

    Now add the chopped leeks, mix well and let them soften.

  • Pour in the beer and let it evaporate over medium-high heat.

    Once it has evaporated, continue cooking, gradually adding hot broth as needed.

    Season with salt and pepper.

  • While the beer stew is cooking, prepare the instant polenta according to the package instructions.

    After about 45 minutes, the beer stew with polenta should be ready, so serve it at the table accompanied by a nice portion of ready polenta.
