Steps for baked pasta with meatballs

  • To make this baked pasta, first prepare the meatballs in advance. In a bowl, mix together the veal, eggs, finely chopped parsley, previously softened sandwich bread in a little milk and well-squeezed, grated Parmesan cheese, salt to taste, a pinch of pepper and nutmeg, and finally the breadcrumbs, blending everything well with your hands until you obtain a homogeneous and soft but compact mixture. Form the meatballs and roll them in breadcrumbs, then fry them in hot oil. Drain and let them cool.

  • Prepare the sauce. In a saucepan, add the oil and chopped garlic and sauté for a few minutes, then add the tomato sauce, adjust the salt, and cook for about twenty minutes. In another saucepan, cook your choice of pasta shape in boiling salted water. Drain the pasta al dente and pour it into a bowl, then add a bit of tomato sauce, the bechamel, and mix carefully. Place the pasta in a baking dish and add the meatballs, grated cheese, and cubed scamorza or mozzarella. Finally, pour the remaining sauce and grated Parmesan on top and bake in a preheated static oven at 356°F-392°F for 20 minutes or until gratinated.

  • And here it is ready to be served. I hope you enjoy my latest recipe, see you next time friends.
