in

Hello friends, today I offer you these fabulous vanillekipferl, German Christmas cookies traditionally made during the holiday season in Germany, but now very well known in Italy. Classic traditional almond and vanilla cookies that melt in your mouth. Below you will find the recipe..

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Cheap
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Cuisine: German

Ingredients for the Vanillekipferl

  • 1 cup Bavarian butter (Or simple butter)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 cups almond flour (Or finely ground almonds)
  • 2 tbsps vanilla extract (Or vanillin or vanilla seeds)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 pinch fine salt
  • as needed vanilla powdered sugar

Tools

  • 1 Paddle attachment
  • 1 Stand mixer
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Baking sheet
  • 1 Parchment paper

Steps for the Vanillekipferl

  • To make these delicious vanillekipferl, place the cold cubed butter, both flours, powdered sugar, pinch of salt, and vanilla essence into the bowl of a stand mixer. Attach the paddle (K) beater and mix at medium speed (1-2) for a few minutes. Finally, add the eggs and mix for a few more minutes at speed 3. Form a dough ball and refrigerate for about an hour. Naturally, you can also make this dough by hand on a work surface or use any kitchen robot. Take the dough from the fridge and shape it into crescents or horns on a work surface. Place the cookies spaced apart on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Preheat the static oven to 340°F (170°C). Bake the cookies at 340°F for about 15 minutes.

  • While still warm, dust the cookies with vanilla powdered sugar and let them cool completely. Serve the vanillekipferl on a serving dish. I hope you enjoy my latest recipe; see you next time, friends.

STORAGE, TIPS, AND NOTES
