I experimented with this version of the orange juice and oat flakes pound cake during my diet, and since then it has become one of my favorite desserts! It has a low sugar content, is rich in fiber, and is super fragrant thanks to the orange. It’s perfect for breakfast or as a healthy snack during the day… so why not share it with you too?

Pound Cake Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/8 cups oat flakes
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sunflower oil
- 1/4 cup orange juice (without sugar)
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 eggs
- 10 drops orange flavor
- 1 pinch salt
Tools
- Pound Cake Pan
Orange Juice Pound Cake Preparation
Start by mixing the sugar and eggs in a bowl, using a whisk or an electric mixer. Once you have a well-blended mixture, add the sifted flour, a pinch of salt, and then gradually add the milk, stirring to incorporate it well. Add the oil, and once it is blended, pour in the orange juice, the flavor, and the baking powder. Continue to work the mixture with the whisk until you get a smooth, semi-liquid consistency.
Put the whisk aside and take a spoon. Add 80 grams of oat flakes and gently mix them to distribute evenly.
Take a pound cake pan, butter and flour it (if necessary), then pour the batter into it. Level the surface well and, before baking, sprinkle the chocolate chips and the remaining oat flakes on top.
Bake at 356°F in static mode for 45 minutes, or at 338°F in convection mode for 40 minutes. In any case, always do the toothpick test before removing to ensure it’s cooked inside.
Tips
As an alternative to the flavor, you can use grated orange zest for an even fresher touch. And if it’s orange season, replace the boxed or bottled juice with freshly squeezed orange juice for an even more natural taste.
