Brownie Cake

Brownie Cake is a very indulgent chocolate cake typical of the American tradition; it is a cake cut into small squares made with dark chocolate, cocoa, butter, eggs, brown sugar and flour. It has a soft, tender crumb inside and a crunchy little crust that melts in your mouth.

This is a very quick preparation: simply melt the chocolate with the butter and, separately, whisk the eggs with the sugar; in a few minutes everything is mixed in a bowl and poured into the pan.

Ingredients

Let’s see together what we need to prepare this

  • 5.3 oz dark chocolate
  • 7 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (unrefined)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1.2 oz unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 Stampo

Steps

Let’s begin preparing

  • Let’s start preparing the brownie cake. In a bowl combine the butter (7 tbsp) and 3.5 oz of dark chocolate and melt in the microwave.

    In another bowl whisk with a hand whisk the eggs with the sugar until you obtain a pale mixture; add the salt and the vanilla.

    Add the melted chocolate and butter to the egg-and-sugar mixture and combine everything.

  • Sift in the flour, cocoa and the half teaspoon of baking powder in two additions and fold gently with a spatula from bottom to top.
    Then pour into a 7 x 7 in (18 x 18 cm) pan previously lined with parchment paper.

    Scatter on top the remaining 1.8 oz of dark chocolate broken into pieces. Bake in a preheated oven at 347°F (conventional) for 20 minutes.

    Always do the skewer test to check the doneness.
