Lentil Meatballs in Jar Cooking

Lentil Meatballs in Jar Cooking is another of my Vegetarian Recipes in Jar Cooking, the same recipe as Microwave Lentil Meatballs in Sauce. In fact, lentil meatballs in jar cooking originated as an idea to preserve this vegetarian main dish for 15 days, thanks to the vacuum seal.

With The Microwave Jar Cooking Technique, we can preserve our favorite dishes for several days in the fridge, and thus structure a jar cooking menu for two weeks, helping us with cooking if we work and want to follow a slimming diet, or, more simply, a varied and balanced diet.

For this recipe, you can use pre-cooked canned lentils, or if you have time, you can prepare the Microwave Lentil Ragu and use it to make the meatballs, which will certainly be tastier!

How to Prepare Lentil Meatballs in Sauce in Microwave Jar Cooking

  • Prepare the Microwave Tomato Sauce.

Finely chop the onion and place it in a bowl, add the oil and the peeled and crushed garlic, and sauté in the microwave for 2 minutes at about 750 watts.

Add the peeled tomatoes to the sautéed onion and crush them with a fork, add a pinch of salt, mix, and cook for 8 minutes at 750 watts, stirring halfway through cooking.

If the tomato sauce boils too vigorously in the microwave, you can cover it with a microwave splatter guard.

At the end of cooking, remove the garlic clove and add the basil leaves, mix and let it rest.

    Microwave Tomato Sauce
  • Choose whether to use dry lentils and cook them following my guide on how to cook legumes, or use canned cooked lentils.

Put the lentils in the blender and blend them to obtain a smooth cream.

    Microwave Lentil Meatballs
  • Place the lentil puree in a bowl and add the egg.

    Mix to combine.

    Microwave Lentil Meatballs
  • Add the flavored breadcrumbs and mix to obtain a firm mixture.

    Microwave Lentil Meatballs
  • With moistened or slightly oiled hands, form several lentil meatballs until the mixture is finished.

Transfer all the lentil meatballs to a crisp tray for the microwave and cook in combined microwave and grill mode for 8 minutes, positioning the tray on the microwave’s lift.

    Microwave Lentil Meatballs
  • Put the tomato sauce inside a jar with a 500 ml thin seal and place 5 lentil meatballs on top.

Repeat the same with the other 3 jars.

Clean the edges of the jar, close with the lid with the seal, and seal with the 4 clamps.

Cook one jar of lentil meatballs in microwave jar cooking at a time, for 5 minutes at your tested power, I use 600W.

At the end of cooking, let it rest for 20 minutes to complete the cooking and allow the vacuum to form.
