Tiramisu without mascarpone and without cream

Tiramisu without mascarpone and without cream

Tiramisu is one of the most loved desserts of the Italian tradition, but this version is truly special!

It is perfect for those seeking a lighter and more delicate alternative. Instead of the classic mascarpone, we will use a soft milk cream, which gives a velvety texture and a sweet taste that does not weigh down.

Easy to prepare and ideal for any occasion, this tiramisu without mascarpone and without cream has a taste very similar to the original dessert, but has a creamy and decidedly lighter texture.

This recipe is a great alternative to the Tiramisu Cheesecake, Ricotta and Coffee Cake, but also the Coffee Dessert.

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 oz ladyfingers
  • 3/4 cup coffee (bitter)
  • 2 1/8 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1 egg
  • 2 packets vanillin
  • to taste unsweetened cocoa powder

Tools

  • Pot
  • Bowls
  • Whisk
  • 4 Glasses glass
  • Plastic wrap

Steps

  • Let’s prepare the milk cream

Pour the milk and the vanillin into a saucepan. Heat over medium heat, taking care not to boil.

Meanwhile, in a bowl, beat the egg with the sugar until you get a light and frothy mixture. Add the sifted flour and mix well.

Pour the hot milk slowly into the mixture, stirring constantly to prevent lumps from forming.

Put everything back in the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly with a whisk or wooden spoon, until the milk cream thickens.

Once the desired consistency is reached, remove from heat and transfer the cream to a bowl. Cover with cling film and let cool first at room temperature and then in the fridge for at least 1 hour.

Meanwhile, prepare the coffee and let it cool.

  • Let’s assemble the tiramisu

Cut the ladyfingers to fit the cups. Dip them quickly in the coffee (without overdoing it to avoid crumbling) and place them in the cups forming 2 layers.

Add a layer of milk cream. You can leave it uneven with a spoon or use a piping bag.

Sprinkle with unsweetened cocoa powder, cover the cups with plastic wrap, and place them in the fridge for at least 2 hours, so the flavors can blend.

  • Our Tiramisu without mascarpone and without cream is ready.

    Enjoy your dessert!

Absolutely yes! If you prefer to avoid caffeine, decaffeinated coffee is a good alternative that does not alter the overall taste of the dessert.
