Steps for Air Fryer Potato Chips
To prepare the potato chips, start by cleaning them: wash thoroughly, peel, and slice them thinly (about 1/16 inch) using a mandoline. Then, place the slices in a bowl with plenty of water and let them soak for an hour.
After soaking, rinse, drain, and dry the potatoes with a cloth. Transfer them to a bowl, season with 3-4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and a pinch of salt, then mix well to distribute the seasoning evenly.
Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket, being careful not to overlap them too much: it’s better to divide them into two batches for more even cooking. Cook at 365°F for about 20 minutes, shaking the basket or turning them gently every 5 minutes.
When the chips have reached the desired crispiness and golden color, remove the basket, place them on a tray, add a pinch of salt, and… enjoy!
Tips for Air Fryer Potato Chips
For perfect chips, use yellow or red-flesh potatoes. To make them even tastier, you can add spices like rosemary, paprika, garlic, or others to your liking.
