  • 1 sheet puff pastry (rectangular)
  • 1 jar pesto without garlic
  • 3.5 oz sliced speck

Steps to make puff pastry swirls with pesto and speck

  • To prepare puff pastry swirls with pesto and speck, first unroll 1 sheet of rectangular puff pastry on a work surface or cutting board, keeping its baking paper if possible. Take 1 jar of pesto without garlic and spread it with the help of a spoon on the puff pastry and then place slices of thinly sliced speck on top.

  • Now roll the puff pastry on itself and wrap the roll in its baking paper and place it in the refrigerator to rest for about 30 minutes. It will be easier to cut into slices. After the resting time, take the roll again, using a smooth-bladed knife, cut your swirls and place them on a baking tray lined with its baking paper. Preheat the static oven to 356 degrees Fahrenheit, and when it’s hot, bake the swirls and cook them for about 20-25 minutes, until golden brown. The cooking depends a bit on the different baking of each oven. I cooked them for about 20 minutes.

  • When they are ready, take them out of the oven and let them cool slightly. Your puff pastry swirls with pesto and speck are ready to be served.
