Baked and Air-Fried Swiss Chard Stalks
This is a side dish suitable for all seasons, as you can enjoy them hot or cold, paired with either meat or fish.

- 1.10 lbs Swiss chard (only the stalks)
- 3.5 oz Breadcrumbs (Sicilian seasoned)
- 2 eggs
- 2 tbsps Extra virgin olive oil
- 1.25 cups Flour
- to taste salt

What do we need
- Pot
- Colander
- Baking Tray
- Parchment Paper
- 1 Oven
Preparation
Choose nice chard stalks.
Cut them in half, and then cut the ends too. You can use the green leaves in another recipe,
Pick and peel the stalks, then wash them in plenty of running water,
Boil water with salt and once it boils, immerse the stalks and cook for 5 minutes.
Drain them, and in the meantime..

Now put the flour in a bowl and bread one stalk at a time,
Beat the eggs, make the second pass, and ….
Complete with the third in the breadcrumbs, pressing well.
Once you have breaded them all…
Place parchment paper on a baking tray and arrange them.
Drizzle with a little extra virgin olive oil.
Turn on the grill to 375°F and once it’s hot, place the tray and cook for 5 minutes, then turn the stalks and continue for another 5 minutes. Remove immediately once the time is up.
Serve either hot or cold.
The Baked Swiss Chard Cutlets are ready.
Air fryer cooking.
Preheat the air fryer. Spray oil on the stalks and cook at 375°F for 5 minutes.
