Old-Fashioned Chocolate Bundt Cake.

The simple and genuine one from grandma with only eggs, sugar, flour, milk, cocoa, and oil.

This old-fashioned chocolate bundt cake is very easy to make with very few and genuine ingredients resulting in a fluffy, cloud-like, and very delicious cake, one of those grandma’s recipes that makes the whole family happy.

Ingredients

  • 5 large eggs (at room temperature)
  • 8.8 oz sugar (4.6 oz for a less sweet version)
  • 3.4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2.5 oz sweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup milk (at room temperature)
  • 1 cup corn oil
  • 1 orange (or a lemon)
  • 1 packet baking powder (16 g)
  • 1 pinch salt
  • as needed Butter and powdered sugar

Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 340°F.

    Butter a 10-inch bundt cake pan.

    Using an electric whisk or a stand mixer, beat the eggs with the sugar and a pinch of salt until the mixture is light, fluffy, and airy.

    While still beating, add the oil, then the milk, and the juice and zest of the orange.

    Sift the flour with the cocoa and baking powder and add it to the egg mixture little by little.

    Pour the mixture into the buttered pan.

    Bake at 340°F for about 45 minutes, then check the baking with a toothpick.

    Once the bundt cake is baked, remove it from the oven, let it cool, then turn it over onto a plate and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

  • Preheat the oven to 340°F.

    Butter a 10-inch bundt cake pan.

    Insert the butterfly whisk into the mixing bowl.

    Separate the egg yolks from the whites.

    Place the egg whites with a pinch of salt in the bowl 1 minute/speed 4.

    Set them aside in a bowl.

    Without rinsing the bowl, add the yolks, sugar, and grated orange peel and mix 2 minutes/Speed 4.

    Add oil, orange juice, and milk 1 minute/Speed 4.

    Remove the butterfly whisk and add the flour and cocoa 50 Seconds/Speed 3.

    Scrape down and gather the batter from the edges to the center.

    Add the baking powder 20 Seconds/Speed 3.

    Turn off the Bimby and fold in the egg whites by hand with a spatula from bottom to top, until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.

  • Pour the mixture into the buttered pan.

    Bake at 340°F for about 45 minutes, then check the baking with a toothpick.

    Once the bundt cake is baked, remove it from the oven, let it cool, then turn it over onto a plate and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
