Fried Bell Peppers

Today we will see how to make an easy and tasty seasonal side dish, fried bell peppers in a pan. I grew up with the peppers from my parents’ garden, a real delight with which to make many recipes, and this is my favorite.

Ingredients

  • 1 bell pepper
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • as needed salt
  • 1 bunch parsley

Procedure

Fried bell peppers are also called pippi fritti, a delicious side dish that can be used to dress a pasta or a bruschetta.

  • First you need to clean and slice the bell peppers into strips, so they cook faster in the pan.

  • Put the pan on the stove over high heat and start heating the oil, when it’s hot add the pepper strips and fry for 5 minutes covered.

  • After a few minutes, you’ll hear the peppers sizzling. Stir them gently and finish cooking in the pan according to your personal taste

  • Now that the peppers are cooked, just add some fresh chopped parsley and serve hot or cold as you like.

    Your fried bell peppers are ready!

Plating advice:

I recommend placing the peppers in a bowl or directly on the plate with the main dish

Wine pairing for fried bell peppers:

Peppers pair well with fresh white wines such as Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, or Cabernet.
