Ingredients for 2 people
- 10.58 oz shrimp
- 1.76 oz breadcrumbs
- 1 bunch parsley
- to taste extra virgin olive oil
- to taste lemon
Tools
- 10 Skewers
- 1 Knife
- 1 Cutting board
Procedure
The secret to flavorful shrimp is the marinade done before cooking, which will ensure tasty and juicy skewers.
First, follow the instructions found here to clean the shrimp perfectly. Since these are single-bite skewers, it’s important to remove the head, shell, and internal vein so that everything is edible.
Leave only the final part of the shell covering the tail so they are easier to grab if needed.
Place the shrimp in a bowl and cover them with oil in which you have previously added finely chopped parsley.
If you like, you can add finely chopped garlic and lemon zest to the marinade to enhance the flavor.
Marinate the shrimp for at least 1-2 hours, and then prepare the skewers. If you are in a hurry, you can marinate the shrimp already on the skewer and reduce the marination time.
After making the skewers, coat them in breadcrumbs to which you have added lemon zest and finely chopped parsley.
Bake in a preheated fan oven at 356°F for 10 minutes. If desired, you can add other oven-baked seafood appetizers like gratin mussels or scallops so that they cook all together.
Your oven-baked shrimp skewers are ready!
Plating Tips:
Once baked, I recommend placing the shrimp skewers on a serving tray or plate so each person can help themselves to as many as they wish.
Wine Pairing for Oven-Baked Shrimp Skewers:
I suggest pairing this recipe with an aromatic white wine, such as a Gavi or a Greco di Tufo.
