Apples in puff pastry, the perfect solution if, like me, you love desserts made with apples and perhaps a pinch of cinnamon but don’t have the time to dive into preparing elaborate cakes or strudels. These little treats can be prepared in only 20 minutes and will delight you. Prepare them with me by following the video recipe.
- Difficulty: Very Easy
- Cost: Economical
- Preparation time: 5 Minutes
- Portions: 8 Pieces
- Cooking methods: Oven
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: All Seasons
Ingredients
- 2 apples
- 2 rolls puff pastry (rectangular)
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- as needed granulated sugar
- milk (for brushing)
Tools
- 1 Apple Corer
- 1 Round Cutter
- 1 Baking Tray
- 1 Knife
- 1 Cutting Board
- 1 Brush
- 1 Parchment Paper
Steps
Let’s start by washing the apples well, as we will use them with the peel. Then remove the core with an apple corer, proceed by slicing the apples, set them aside for a moment, and proceed by pouring some sugar onto a small plate to which we will add cinnamon according to our taste.
Now roll out the puff pastry and use a round cutter to cut circles slightly larger than the apple slices.
Take one apple slice at a time, dip it in the sugar and cinnamon mix on both sides, and place each slice inside a puff pastry circle, which will be covered with another circle. Seal the edges well around the apple slice, enclosing it within the pastry. Then, on the top of each treat, use the back of a knife to create rays, leaving the central part where the apple hole is free of design.
Place our apples in puff pastry on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, brush the top with milk, and sprinkle with sugar. Bake in a static oven at 356°F for about 20 minutes; the treats should come out nicely golden. Remove from the oven and enjoy.
