Preparation of the Fantastic Savory Croissants with Mortadella
Unroll the puff pastry on the work surface, using the crimped wheel cut it lengthwise in half and from each part make 7 triangles for a total of 14 triangles.
Distribute the mortadella over all the puff pastry triangles, roll them starting from the wide side to form 14 mini croissants, place them on a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a small bowl, beat the egg with a pinch of salt using a fork.
Brush all the croissants with the egg yolk and sprinkle on top a mix of sesame and poppy seeds.
Preheat the oven to 428°F and once it reaches temperature, bake the savory croissants with mortadella, cook for 20 minutes, once cooked and well browned take them out and serve, excellent both hot and cold!
TIPS
You can replace the sesame and poppy seeds with pistachio grits or hazelnut grits.
You can use whole wheat puff pastry instead of the regular one.
You can also use a round puff pastry, you will still cut 14 triangles.
