Preparation of the Fantastic Savory Croissants with Mortadella
Unroll the puff pastry on the work surface, cut it in half lengthwise with the fluted wheel and from each part obtain 7 triangles for a total of 14 triangles.
Distribute the mortadella by dividing it onto all the puff pastry triangles, roll them starting from the wide end to form 14 mini croissants, place them on a baking tray with parchment paper.
In a small bowl, beat the egg with a pinch of salt using a fork.
Brush all the croissants with the egg yolk and sprinkle with a mix of sesame and poppy seeds.
Preheat the oven to 428°F and once it reaches the temperature, bake the savory croissants with mortadella, cook for 20 minutes, once they are cooked and well golden, take them out and serve them, great both hot and cold!
TIPS
You can substitute the sesame and poppy seeds with chopped pistachios or hazelnuts.
You can use whole wheat puff pastry instead of regular.
You can also use round puff pastry, you will still cut 14 triangles.
