The Cheese Christmas Tree is perfect for an appetizer, a starter, or a buffet during the Holidays. This cheese tree is easy to make but above all, it’s delicious!
I made a cheese mixture with: nuts, cherry tomatoes, peppers, chives, and parsley. I then shaped the tree and decorated it with Taggiasca olives, green olives (made by my mother), and sun-dried tomatoes in oil (also my mother’s). I garnished it with rosemary sprigs and topped it with a piece of cheese in a star shape.
The result was a great success, and during the holidays I will offer this tree to everyone: friends and family!

- 2 tbsps Pickled Peppers
- 1 bunch Parsley
- 1 bunch Chives
- 5 Chopped Walnuts
- to taste Salt
- to taste Green Olives
- to taste Taggiasca Olives
- to taste Sun-dried Tomatoes in Oil
- 1 sprig Rosemary
- 1 slice Cheese
Preparation
To make the Cheese Christmas Tree, pour the cheese, chopped walnuts, cherry tomatoes (previously washed and cleaned) cut into small cubes, peppers cut into small pieces, parsley, and chopped chives into a bowl.
Using a spatula, or a spoon, mix the ingredients well until you get a homogeneous and compact mixture. Adjust for salt, and you can add minced garlic or minced onion if desired.
On a work surface, lay a sheet of plastic wrap on which to place the cheese mixture. You need to create a pile, a sort of small mountain.
Take another sheet of plastic wrap and wrap it around the cheese mixture. Then with your hands, shape the cheese mixture, trying to give it a pyramid shape, similar to a Christmas tree.
If the mixture is very soft and difficult to shape, I recommend putting it in the refrigerator to firm up for 30 minutes.
Remove the plastic wrap from the base of the cheese tree, and place the tree on a serving plate. Also, remove the other sheet of plastic wrap and smooth the edges with a spatula.
Decorate the cheese tree with Taggiasca olives, sun-dried tomatoes, and green olives, pressing them slightly to prevent them from falling. Beautify the tree by inserting small sprigs of rosemary.
Take a slice of cheese about a quarter inch thick and use a star-shaped cookie cutter to press onto the slice, thus obtaining a cheese star to place on top of the tree.
Serve the tree with small savory snacks and rolled cold cuts. Enjoy your meal!
