How to prepare Brussels sprouts with bacon
Prepare Brussels sprouts with bacon starting with the sprouts, wash them, and remove the outer hard or damaged leaves.
Make a cross-cut at the base of each sprout to allow even cooking.
Steam the sprouts for 15 minutes or boil them for 8 minutes, then drain.
Meanwhile, finely chop the onion and sauté it in a pan with olive oil.
When it starts to become transparent, add the diced bacon and cook it well.
Add the Brussels sprouts, season with salt and pepper, and continue cooking for another 8/9 minutes, tossing the pan occasionally.
After the time has passed, check by piercing a sprout with a fork; if the fork slides in easily, they are perfectly cooked. Taste for seasoning.
You can add herbs of your choice at the end of cooking or leave them plain.
