Raw Spinach Salad with Greek Yogurt

The raw spinach and Greek yogurt salad is super easy and quick to make. Raw spinach is delicious and healthy for our body. You can use either spinach or baby spinach. Baby spinach is more tender, but I used regular spinach, and the salad turned out delightful.
You have to try it; you’ll fall in love with it too. The combination of spinach and Greek yogurt is fantastic. Add a few more ingredients, and your raw spinach salad is ready to serve.

Ingredients for the raw spinach salad

  • 12 oz spinach
  • 1 onion
  • 6 walnut halves
  • 3/4 cup Greek yogurt (or full-fat unsweetened yogurt)
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 pinches salt
  • to taste black pepper
  • 3 tbsps extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic

Tools

  • 1 Citrus juicer
  • 1 Garlic press
  • 1 Salad bowl

Preparation of spinach and Greek yogurt salad

  • To prepare the raw spinach and Greek yogurt salad, first wash the spinach leaves thoroughly under running water, then gently pat them dry with a cloth.

  • If using spinach, tear the leaves into a large salad bowl; otherwise, with baby spinach, there’s no need.

  • Squeeze the lemon and strain the juice, dress the spinach with it and mix.

    Finely chop the garlic clove and thinly slice the onion.

  • Add garlic and onion to the spinach and chop the walnuts, mix everything well.

    Soften the Greek yogurt with the extra virgin olive oil and incorporate it into the salad bowl.

Variations for the spinach salad

If you don’t like garlic, you can omit it, and if you can’t find Greek yogurt, you can make it at home following my recipe HERE.

Spinach and Cheese Salad Variation

If you prefer a main dish instead of a side, use 5 oz (150 g) of cheese like caciotta cut into cubes and toast some bread slices to add to the plates with the salad.
