Preparation of savory croissants with bacon
To prepare the savory croissants with bacon and gooey cheese, first equip yourself with a kitchen robot or a mixer to make your work easier.
Otherwise, you can do it by hand in a bowl.
So, add the flour and margarine to the bowl of your robot along with a pinch of salt and yeast and start mixing.
Once the margarine has been absorbed by the flour, you can add the water, finish kneading until you have a smooth and homogeneous mixture.
Now wrap the dough in cling film and place it in the refrigerator to rest for at least 40 minutes.
After the resting time, you’re ready to shape the savory croissants with bacon and cheese.
Roll out the dough into a round sheet 1/8 inch thick, then cut the dough first into 4 and then again into 4 to get 8 wedges.
Preheat the oven to 428°F and fill each dough wedge with two slices of bacon placed on the outer edges, complete with two squares of cheese on the widest part, then roll it up.
Place the savory croissants on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper, lightly beat an egg and brush the surface of each croissant.
Bake in the oven for 15 minutes or until you see the golden surface and the croissants nicely puffed.
