Appetizers always take center stage, and you can never have enough. The recipe I’m sharing today is so simple, it’s hard to even call it a recipe. Few and simple ingredients, no cooking, and effortlessly charming enough to win everyone over at the table. Ingredients for the Christmas Appetizer
- 12 savory crackers for aperitif
- 12 slices Hungarian salami
- 7.05 oz fresh spreadable cheese (like Philadelphia)
- 1.41 oz grated Parmesan cheese
How to prepare Christmas Canapés with salami
Mix the spreadable cheese with the grated Parmesan in a bowl. Transfer this cheese cream into a piping bag with a wide star tip. To make the canapés, you need round savory crackers, available in various brands.
Spread the cream over the crackers in concentric circles from the center outward. Fold each slice of salami in half and then roll it to form a cone.
Place it on the cracker topped with the cheese cream. Prepare them all in the same way. With the piping bag, add a dollop of cream on the tip of the ‘hat’. Store the Christmas canapés in the fridge

Loredana’s Tips
For the recipe, I was inspired HERE
I recommend preparing the Canapés a few hours in advance but not too much because the cracker tends to soften over time
You can replace the fresh cheese with ricotta, robiola, or mascarpone. And the savory crackers with bread cut into disks and slightly toasted
