Red wine caramelized quinces are delicious. Quinces arrive, and I immediately prepare a simple and delightful recipe. Quinces are rich in pectin, a fiber that aids digestion and helps control cholesterol and blood sugar levels, as well as having anti-inflammatory properties. They are only consumed cooked, either baked or pan-cooked. You can choose to peel them first or not, and cook them in slices or whole. The recipe I want to share with you today is for delicious Quinces cooked in the pan with red wine. They are tender, sweet, and delightful, perfect as a simple after-dinner dessert or as a lovely evening treat. The red wine and sugar create an irresistible caramelized sauce that wraps around the apple slices, making them special. And then the scent of cinnamon, which I adore, makes them fabulous! The recipe is very simple, even for those who are not skilled in the kitchen. Let’s hurry to the kitchen and prepare the Quinces in the pan together

Ingredients for Quinces in the pan
- 2 quinces
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
How to prepare red wine caramelized quinces
Peel and clean the quinces. Slice them thinly. Dip the apple slices in a saucepan with boiling water. Let them cook for 7-8 minutes. Drain the quinces and transfer them to a pan.
Pour the sugar, red wine, and cinnamon over the apple slices. Cover the pan with a lid and let cook on low heat for 8-10 minutes. If it dries out too much, add a few more tablespoons of wine.
Serve the quince slices with the sauce. I prefer them warm.

Loredana’s Tips
If there are leftover quinces, store them in a container in the fridge for 1-2 days. I recommend heating them for a few minutes because they are delicious when slightly warm.
You can replace granulated sugar with brown sugar.
