Dutch baby with cherry tomatoes and oregano
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Preparation time: 15 Minutes
  • Portions: 1-2 people
  • Cooking methods: Oven
  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 0.5 oz butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • as needed butter (for the pan)
  • 5 oz cherry tomatoes
  • 1 red spring onion
  • 8 leaves basil
  • 3 sprigs fresh oregano

Steps

  • To prepare the Dutch baby with cherry tomatoes and oregano, preheat the oven to 390 degrees Fahrenheit (static).
Melt the butter and set aside.
Put the eggs, milk, flour, salt, and oregano in a mixer. Turn on the mixer just long enough to get a smooth, lump-free mixture. Add the melted butter and mix again for a few seconds.

  • Prepare an ovenproof pan or baking dish, about 6.5 inches in diameter. Place 0.5 oz of butter inside, then put it in the oven for a couple of minutes, until the butter melts.
When the butter has melted, pour the batter into the pan and bake at 390 degrees for 20-25 minutes, until puffy and golden. Please do not open the oven during baking, or the Dutch Baby will deflate.
