These puff pastry bunnies with hazelnuts are adorable to serve at Easter, or even for children’s birthdays. They can be prepared in less than half an hour and can be enjoyed warm, making them perfect for last-minute guests.
If you prefer, instead of hazelnut spread, you can also use pistachio cream and replace the toasted hazelnuts with toasted pistachios.
They are truly delicious, but be careful, they disappear quickly!

- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: Easter
Ingredients
- 1.75 oz toasted hazelnuts
- 1 roll puff pastry (rectangular)
- to taste hazelnut spread
- to taste powdered sugar
Steps
To prepare the puff pastry bunnies with hazelnuts, preheat the oven to 375°F (convection) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roughly chop the toasted hazelnuts and set aside.
Unroll the puff pastry and spread a generous layer of hazelnut spread over the entire surface, then sprinkle with the chopped hazelnuts.
Cut the pastry into 12 strips of about 3/4 inch each, lengthwise.
Roll up the first strip until three-quarters, then fold the remaining part into an “M” shape to form the bunny ears. Place on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
Proceed in the same way for the remaining pastry strips.
Dust the bunnies with powdered sugar and bake at 375°F for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown.
Remove from the oven, sprinkle with a bit more powdered sugar, and serve warm or cold.
