Pasta with sausage and peas is a creamy and tasty main dish, whose preparation is very simple. It’s one of those recipes that can save a lunch or dinner at the last minute because it requires few ingredients and is ready in no time.
Of course, you can use the type of pasta you like best, although I must admit that I prefer short pasta with this sauce.

- Difficulty: Easy
- Preparation time: 20 Minutes
- Portions: 4 servings
- Cooking methods: Stovetop
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: All seasons
Ingredients
- 12 oz pasta
- 1/2 onion
- to taste vegetable oil
- 12 oz sausage
- 5 oz peas
- 10 oz fresh liquid cream
- to taste salt
- to taste pepper
Steps
To prepare the pasta with sausage and peas, finely chop the onion. Heat a large pan with a few tablespoons of vegetable oil and gently fry the onion for a few minutes until it softens but doesn’t color.
In the meantime, peel the sausages and crumble them with your hands or roughly chop them with a knife. Add the crumbled sausage to the onion and fry everything over high heat until the sausage is well browned. Add the peas, fry for another two minutes
and pour in the cream.Bring to a boil and lower the heat. Let it cook over low heat and uncovered for about 10 more minutes to thicken the cream a bit. Usually, sausages are already flavorful, so taste before adding salt and pepper.
In the meantime, bring plenty of water to a boil in a large pot, salt it, and add the pasta.
Drain the pasta al dente, saving some of the cooking water. Put the pasta directly into the pan with the sausage and pea sauce and mix. Add a bit of cooking water to better mix everything and serve.
If you like, you can serve the pasta with sausage and peas with a sprinkle of Parmesan.
