The warm milk cake with apples is a very soft and easy-to-prepare dessert, enriched with many juicy apple cubes. It’s a very simple cake to make, that usually everyone likes, because although it may seem like a classic cake, that addition of warm milk and melted butter at the end gives it that extra touch of taste and softness. I used Golden apples for the preparation, but of course, you can use any variety of apples you have at home. If you want, you can also add chocolate chips. In that case, I recommend always mixing them with some flour, like the apples, so they don’t sink completely into the cake.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup milk
- 4 tbsps butter
- 4 eggs
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla sugar
- 1 1/3 cups flour
- 2 tsps baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 3 apples (I used Golden Delicious from Val Venosta)
- 1 tbsp flour
- as needed powdered sugar
Steps
To prepare the warm milk cake with apples, wash and peel the apples, cut them into cubes, mix them with the tablespoon of flour and set aside. Preheat the oven to 350°F (static). Line the bottom of a cake pan (9 inches) with parchment paper.
Heat the milk with the butter until it’s almost boiling.
Put the eggs, sugar, and vanilla sugar in a bowl and beat everything until you get a very swollen and frothy mixture.
Mix the flour with the baking powder and salt and sift over the egg mixture, incorporating with a spatula and upward movements.
Heat the milk again until it’s almost boiling and pour it along the edge of the bowl, incorporating it as well. Finally, add the apple cubes and incorporate with upward movements.
Pour the batter into the cake pan, level the surface, and bake at 350°F for about 45 minutes. Do the toothpick test. Remove your warm milk cake with apples from the oven and let it cool on a rack. Serve sprinkled with powdered sugar.
