Saint Patrick’s Ring Cake

Saint Patrick’s Ring Cake, a typical Irish dessert. Legend has it that on the Irish mountain Croagh Patrick, the saint spent 40 days and 40 nights and that, after the days were over, he threw a bell from the top of the mountain into Clew Bay to drive away the snakes. To celebrate Saint Patrick, even today in Dublin and all over Ireland, it is celebrated with music and dances, parties, and many drinks of beer and sweets like the beer ring cake. This festival is also popular in Italy, such as at Forte Marghera and not only there. Ireland is known as the Emerald Isle, rich in breathtaking landscapes and culturally rich cities. Not surprisingly, green with the shamrock is the color and symbol of this nation. The beer ring cake is a traditional Irish dessert prepared on March 17th to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day.
