The mulled gin is an alcoholic beverage enjoyed hot, to warm up during cold winter days. It’s a tasty alternative to mulled wine, omnipresent in winter, especially during the Christmas period, at Christmas markets. While mulled wine is made only with wine and spices, I prepared mulled gin with a base of apple juice, orange juice, and spices, to which I added gin before serving.
Honestly… if I had to say whether I prefer mulled wine or mulled gin, I couldn’t choose!
- Difficulty: Easy

Ingredients
- 2/3 cup apple juice
- 1/3 cup orange juice

- 1 oz gin
- 1 sprig rosemary
- to taste cranberries (optional)
Steps
To prepare mulled gin, put the apple juice, orange juice, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and star anise in a saucepan. If the orange is untreated, you can also add a piece of orange peel, previously washed.
Heat everything and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
Then remove from heat and add the gin. Stir and pour into the glass or mug along with the spices; alternatively, you can strain it through a sieve to remove the spices.
Serve your mulled gin with a sprig of rosemary and some cranberries for a more scenic effect.
Suggestions
As for the spices, you can of course vary according to your taste.
