The microwave onion recipe is prepared in a short time, but the result is excellent. The strong flavor of leeks, sweetened by cooking cream and further enhanced by smoked bacon, makes this recipe a novelty worth trying. I must admit that since I was a child, I hated onions. Heaven forbid finding them in the sauce, and when my mom used to prepare a typical recipe from our area in winter, the famous “cipollata,” it would make me nauseous. Cipollata is made with spring onions boiled in salted water with eggs, and then the bread is dipped into it. Over time, things change, and now I gladly eat both cipollata and these onions cooked in the microwave that remind me of my childhood.
