I know, I know that everyone knows how to make tomato sauce. After all, we’re Italians, right? Yet, I have to tell you something: I can’t make it as good as the Bimby does. When I made it by hand, the result was never that great; always that slight acidic taste that annoyed me. So I stopped making it, since with the Bimby it not only comes out delicious but it’s ready in just a few minutes without needing to watch it. Ideal, then, when you return home from work and don’t have time to stand at the stove: the sauce is ready while the pasta cooks. I assure you it’s a great convenience!

Ingredients for Bimby Tomato Sauce
- 14 oz tomato pulp
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 shallot
- 1 pinch sugar
- 4 tsp extra virgin olive oil
- to taste salt
Tools
- Bimby
Preparation of Bimby Tomato Sauce
Peel the garlic clove and the shallot, place them in the bowl and chop for 4 seconds at speed 7. The shallot can be replaced with half a yellow onion. If you don’t like garlic, you can omit it.
Gather the chopped ingredients towards the center of the bowl with the spatula, then add the oil and sauté for 3 minutes at 212°F and speed 1.
At this point, add the tomato pulp, a pinch of sugar, and salt (you can adjust it according to your personal taste). Cook for 10 minutes at 212°F and Soft Speed with Reverse.
At the end of cooking, you can add basil leaves. If the tomato sauce is too liquid, increase the cooking time and raise the temperature to Varoma. Enjoy! Paola
