Chicken Bites with Mustard and Soy Sauce

Chicken bites with mustard and soy sauce, a main course with an oriental flavor, easy and quick to prepare, perfect for an everyday dinner or with friends. After sharing the recipe for creamy veal bites, I wanted to try this version with an oriental taste.

It’s very simple to prepare! After cutting the chicken breast into cubes, I let it marinate for half an hour in a bowl with an emulsion made of soy sauce, mustard, and honey. These ingredients will give the chicken a delightful contrast between sweet and salty, as well as a sauce perfect for dipping bread. The meat will be very tender, thanks to marinating in the soy sauce, mustard, and honey emulsion. Flavors that make this version of sweet and sour chicken tasty and inviting, in a few words, irresistible!

A very comforting and tasty dish. A recipe that brings to mind family lunches on Sundays, the aroma of good things spreading throughout the house, and the race for the last piece of bread to dip in the pan with the meat sauce. Curious to find out how to prepare it? Let’s head to the kitchen together because the chicken bites with mustard and soy sauce will be ready in a click!

  • 1.1 lbs chicken breast
  • 2 tbsps extra virgin olive oil (plus more for cooking the meat)
  • 3.5 tbsps soy sauce
  • 1.5 tbsps honey
  • 3 tbsps mustard
  • sesame seeds (to taste)

Tools

  • Pan
  • Bowl
  • Cutting Board
  • Knife

Steps

  • First, cut the chicken breast into cubes. Alternatively, you can have your trusted butcher do it. Then, mix the soy sauce, honey, mustard, and oil in a bowl. Add the chicken bites and mix. Then cover with plastic wrap and let rest in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

Heat a little oil in a non-stick pan and add the meat with all the marinade. Cook over high heat for a couple of minutes, stirring. Then cover with a lid, lower the heat, and continue cooking for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Make sure not to add salt, as the presence of soy sauce will make this recipe quite savory. After the cooking time, remove the lid and increase the heat. Let the leftover sauce in the pan thicken along with the meat.
