After letting you try the iced caramel macchiato, could I not leave you the pumpkin spice latte recipe as well? This drink of English origin was created by Starbucks and is perfect for the winter season. Rich in spices, it’s delicious. I tried it in England, more precisely in London, when I went a few years ago with my husband, Giorgia and Francesca.
A mix of traditional flavors, autumnal spices including cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg, with hot milk to which steamed pumpkin pulp and espresso are added. Often garnished with whipped cream, but today my version features milk foam.
For the recipe I used oat milk, but you can use any other plant-based drink you like or cow’s milk. A drink that is trending on social media right now and could I not try it again? Absolutely not! Curious to find out how to prepare it? Then let’s go to the kitchen together, because the pumpkin spice latte will be ready in a click!

Ingredients
- 2.6 oz pumpkin (steamed)
- 7 oz oat milk
- 1 espresso (shot)
- ground cinnamon (to taste)
- nutmeg (to taste)
- ground ginger (to taste)
- vanilla (to taste)
- oat milk (for the foam)
Tools
- Milk frother
- Glass for latte
- Pressure cooker electric
- Steaming basket
- Small saucepan
Steps
First, steam the pumpkin. I used the electric pressure cooker, but you can also use the traditional one, or cook it in plenty of salted water. Cooking times will obviously differ.
Put a little water in the pot and then the basket with the cleaned and cubed pumpkin. Close the pot and cook the pumpkin with the steam function for 2 minutes. Then depressurize the pot, open it, and mash or blend the pumpkin until you get a puree.
Pour the plant-based drink into a small saucepan and add the spices, vanilla seeds, and 1 tablespoon of pumpkin puree. Put on the heat and bring to the edge of boiling, stirring.
Then place 2 tablespoons of pumpkin puree at the bottom of the glass. Add the hot milk, the espresso shot, and the milk foam prepared with the milk frother.
Sprinkle generously with ground cinnamon and serve. The drink is ready! Enjoy it by the fireplace, maybe while reading a good book.
